CRC Students Join Together for Study Abroad
International programs CRC colleges and universities are all very involved in study abroad and other international programs. Joining together can be a real win/win, as it was in the summer 2009 for a joint NC State-Saint Augustine’s experience in China. The coordinators of international programs at CRC institutions keep in contact so that they take advantage of opportunities to share resources for trips and study abroad. The joint program was arranged through the Confucius Institute at NC State University.
Trip abroad spawns new Chinese Center at 2nd CRC college, Saint Augustine’s University
One of the results of that 2009 China program at Nanjing Normal University was the creation in the fall of 2011 of a Confucius Classroom at Saint Augustine’s University. The Confucius Classroom at Saint Augustine’s University is the first of its kind at a Historically Black College or University. It is one of three Confucius Classrooms under North Carolina State University’s Confucius Institute. The other classrooms are at Central Carolina Community College in Sanford and Enloe High School in Raleigh. The Confucius Classroom will offer classes in Chinese language and culture for the campus community and the community at large.
