July 19, 2018 Staff Professional Development Workshop

The second year for our staff professional development workshop took place on July 19, 2018 with nearly 180 participants from a huge variety of positions. It was at the Wake Tech Southern campus and again stressed how staff members can be successful and rise up the higher education ladder. It started with a panel of representatives from each of the six member institutions who talked about their experiences in higher ed positions as varied as dean of students, HR, an assistant to a president and director of a retail center at NC State.

And then 20 different breakout sessions covered topics like “Developing Strategies for a Safe Campus,” “Make Your Co-Worker Your Best Customer,” “Empowering Under-Represented Students,” “Understanding Gender & Sexuality,” “A Program to Support Military & Veteran Students,” and “Doing More with Microsoft Word.” See the link on the right to the whole schedule.
