2013 Library Workshop
2013 Library Workshop: “The Complete User Experience: From the Right Chairs to the Right Help”
At this year’s workshop CRC was pleased to welcome library staff members from our newest member, Wake Tech Community College. Some 65 library staff members from all six CRC colleges and universities gathered again this summer (July 11th) at William Peace University. Librarians from years past might think they were in the wrong place with the emphasis this year on new ways to engage and help students and faculty—whether by creating new spaces for them, taking them on tours or sending library staff and student workers across campus spaces to help students. Several speakers talked about the impact of the second NC State Library, the James B. Hunt Library on Centennial Campus, which opened this past January. As with the previous five workshops, the expertise came from within with presenters from member libraries sharing their latest discoveries.
Presenters and Planners: Among the presenters were Clevell Roseboro (top), Toni Thorpe and Marian Fragola (bottom left) and Jennifer Townes (bottom right)
Workshop planning committee: Nate Hellmers (Peace), Anne Burke (NCSU, Jahala Simuel (Shaw), Jennifer Townes (Saint Augustine’s) and Gerry Sargent (Meredith).
