2014 Library Workshop

2014 Library Workshop: “Right Here, Right Now: Building Connections”

Members of the six CRC institutions’ library staffs came to Cary for the first time for their summer workshop on July 10th. At the end of Wake Tech Community College’s first year in CRC, the librarians convened at Wake Tech’s Western campus. The 60 participants started the day with a timely update on changes with NC LIVE from Director Tim Rogers. Then one of his staff members, Heather Klein, talked about building confidence with digital resources. A trio of library staff from Wake Tech talked about their experiences with LibGuides, and Katie Nash from Elon University shared her ideas about archives. The day finished with Will Cross from NC State reassuring his audience about “Copyright Without Fear.”

Thanks to the Workshop planning committee: Jackie Kilberg (Wake Tech), Nate Hellmers (Peace), Anne Burke (NCSU, Musette McKelvey (Shaw), Jason Howard (Saint Augustine’s) and Jake Vaccaro (Meredith).
