Meredith College recently removed potential application barriers for transfer students by reducing the number of credit hours required to submit a high school transcript and removing the school official recommendation form from transfer student applications.
Previously, the College required transfer students with fewer than 30 credit hours to submit a high school transcript. The revised guidelines require a limit of 24 credits, consistent with other institutions.
“We were concerned that the higher number of hours might be turning some students away, especially those who have been out of high school for some time,” said Justine Whitfield, director of admissions. “This is a big win in terms of removing barriers for transfer students.”
